Deltarune Chapter 5 Review

Okay so the reason there has been no posts recently is I was sick and am sorry for that. Now Deltarune recently had its fifth chapter it is very character focused rather than story focused after the heavy story focus of the last chapter, this is sort of welcome. We do get some story, we learn why Toriel left Asgore, learn about Dark Fountains prior to the events of the game, and we learn Ralsei has some connection to Asriel.

Now I have covered Deltarune in the past so I won’t write the same thing again. Chapter 5 starts with the festival unless you are doing the weird route. There are more interactions between the characters rather than just the protagonists. Noelle and Asgore take center stage this time. Asgore is studying the Dark World while constantly being distracted by the Seven Flowers. This chapter more than any other shows that in the world of Deltarune there is no good guy or bad guy. The Flowers attack you because they want Asgore to be happy and blame you for his sadness. You learn that this time the group can’t join you in Castle Town because flowers need constant care. This Chapter isn’t as lore heavy as previous ones and is more used as motivation to tell at least Noelle the world’s in danger and setup the story after this. Despite how different the story was handled I do look forward to the last 2 Chapters and if you went after the 5 secret Bosses so far then figure out what Seam is doing with the shards you collect. Probably nothing good and might even be the secret battle for Chapter 6 though that is only speculation it wouldn’t be the first time one of these characters has said they want to help you only to attack you later.
